The big moment for Fior and Anurag had finally arrived! It was hard to imagine that after Day 1 and Day 2, that there was even MORE to come! The third and final day marked the traditional Indian Wedding, which took place at Oheka Castle in Long Island. (Yes, that IS the same Castle that a Jonas brother got married in!)

I have never photographed an Indian wedding before, so it was great to have the guidance of Ajit along the way. There were many customs and traditions that I had NO idea what they meant, so being able to shoot along side someone who lives this culture, himself, was so helpful!

One of my favorite parts of the day was during the Baraat, which is the bridegoom's wedding procession. The groom rode in a horse drawn carriage, along with his sister while family and friends dance in the streets! It's kind of like a parade with music, scarves and colors flying everywhere! On Anurag's wedding day, it was over 100 degrees, yet the people danced for an hour!!! It was amazing!

Here are some things I learned:

- The more people, the better! It's all about the party!
- The veiling of the bride is one of the most sacred moments.
- Indian people LOOOOVE group photos!
- The couple is officially considered married after they circle the holy fire 7 times.
- And lastly, and most importantly, Indian people L.O.V.E. to DANCE!

It was such a great experience to work with Ajit on this wedding! Thank you so much for inviting me along!! I learned SO much about myself as an artist and about the Indian culture and I love that I was able to go out of my 'comfort zone' and experience a completely different world of weddings! Congratulations to Fior and Anurag on their amazing wedding!

LOVEe
