Grandma Nolan!

Each summer, there is a family reunion. This summer, I was bound and determine to get a fantastic portrait of Grandma Nolan! This is a very strong woman who has such a big heart and spunk for life! I wanted to shoot film of the family and I was SO excited when the film came back...I nailed it! I absolutely love this image. I think it is classic and it was exactly the portrait I was going for!

And don't you just LOVE film? Each and every time I get film back from Richard Photo Lab, I get all giddy, because it looks SO good! You'd think it's new technology or something!

Lilliana - 1 Year Old!!

I have been photographing little Lilli since WAY before she was born! It all started with her parents getting married - then while she was in the belly - and NOW she is 1 year old!!! The DeLeon's have been coming in for monthly sessions for Lilli's first year and I can not say enough about how cool this experience as been! I've gotten to see this little cutie grow up, and capture it along the way, but the best part is that Lilli and I are friends! That's right - I am friends with a 1 year old! Seriously, each time she came in for her session, she automatically lit up for me and I just LOVE photographing her!

Abbie: An Impromtu Portrait!

World - meet Abbie! She is my SUPER cool, bad-ass-hair-color-tech-friend from Vancouver! Well, actually, she's an Aussie, but now chills out on the west coast of Canada! I met Abbie a couple years ago through Brock and she has been a fabulous friend! While I was in Vancouver this past month, we did a bit of an impromptu photo session - I LOVE the way these turned out!

Happy Birthday Amber!

This last weekend was also my best friend, Amber's, birthday! Since I was conveniently in town for Lindsey and Cole's AMAZING wedding, I figure it would be the perfect opportunity to really surprise Amber! Joe, her boyfriend, is currently going to school 5 hours away, so we planned a sneak-attack-surprise for him to come down and spend the weekend with her!

SUCCESS!!!

 

We also finished things up with a mini-session at the witching hour!

Just in Time for Mothers Day!

This week, I photographed Tracy's family for a personal project I am doing! After the shoot, I took a few snapshots of her beautiful little girl Lily! How gorgeous is this little one?

This also comes with perfect timing, just before Mothers Day!

The Schmidt Girls!

I have known Robin and Elissa for a loooooong time. I can actually remember the day, in 6th grade, that I met Elissa! Needless to say, we go way back and I was SUPER excited to be asked to photograph this mother-daughter-duo! We had so much fun and the session was for Robin's Birthday/Mother's Day....Happy Birthday Robin!

Vegas: Red Rock Canyon!!

I have wanted to shoot in Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas for a while now! So, I figured that this year was the year to make that happen! I also always wanted to shoot at dawn! It was gorgeous! With the sun coming up and the truly golden light – a girl with her camera couldn’t go wrong! It was a long day – models, hair and makeup showed up to the hotel at 3am, but it was TOTALLY worth it! We were also able to experiment with outdoor studio lighting in direct sunlight vs natural ambient light!

Many photographers joined me and it was a fabulous excuse to try out new techniques!

Vegas - Downtown!

While in Las Vegas for WPPI, my good friend Sarah Rhoads and I put together a little 'girls only' shoot! (Well, it was girls only + Brandon - so even better!) Cadence and Eli were our models and we set off for good ole Downtown Vegas for their shoot! It was SO. MUCH. FUN. to shoot with all of these women - many of whom are now my new friends!Check them out!!!

Rockstar Boudoir Photos!!!

This past week, Photogen Inc hosted our first ever exclusive event - The Rockstar Boudoir! We set up shop at Aqua Night Club, downtown Minneapolis and had a fabulous night of champagne, pampering, live music and photo shoots! Overall, the night was a huge success and we all had a ton of fun! We are hoping to make this event bigger and better as time goes on - and hopefully an annual event as well! I have received nothing but bad-ass reviews from all of the attendees - we all had SO much FUN!

Shawn and Amanda: Young Love!

Shawn is my little-brother-from-another-mother! He and his family have been some of the best friends a girl could ask for, so when he asked me to shoot him and his OH-so-CUTE girlfriend, Amanda, I said HELL YEAH!

After all the shooting was done, it was time to play!

Judd came up with this cool little mini-video! He took all of my un-edited images, straight out of camera and created a little 'flip book' of sorts...ENJOY!

I had SO much fun with Shawn and Amanda! It's not often that we get to see each other anymore, so just hanging out with them was so much fun! Just like young love...
